I would inspire my students to think of environments that they really enjoy looking at, rather than environments they are in a lot or that have certain shapes. Eventually I decided on a place that I find myself in a lot and actually pay attention to its aesthetic appearance. I don't really live in an environment that I'm comfortable in and would want to create art from, so I thought of areas other than my living spaces. I can reflect on my personal involvement in the creative process during this art experience, and how I would inspire my students to feel positive about this experience: Watercolor paper, paintbrushes, paints, paper towels, cups, water HCPS III Benchmark FA.3.1.3: Use observational skills in creating an original work of art HCPS III Benchmark FA.DP.1.2 How the Arts are Organized: Demonstrate an understanding of wet media such as ink, watercolor, tempera, acrylics, and mixed media I can cite a HCPS III in the Visual Arts and the Benchmark I feel this lesson meets: I was also motivated by being able to use new materials I was motivated to created my own piece during this art experience because I was given the freedom to choose my own environment and which type of shapes (biomorphic or geometric) to include. I can describe the instructional strategies used as a motivation for creating my own work of art: I can create a title for this art experience: Geometric and Biomorphic Shapes in the Environment I can document and reflect upon the mini-lessons and art production experiences I completed this semester in ITE 326, Visual Arts, Elementary.
